Here are two great food ideas and one great app to carry along with you!
Semi-Homemade Chicken Soup:
30 minutes or less to make
1. Bring two big boxes of chicken broth to a boil adding in these spices; salt, pepper, garlic salt, vegetable seasoning, natures all purpose seasoning. Taste the broth and add to your liking. Also add in some chopped celery. Cook at a boil for 5-7 min.
2. Cut the heat to a simmer and add in chopped up chicken pieces. I bought a rotisserie chicken from the store.
3. Let that all cook together at a simmer for 10 min.
4. Lastly add in one can of diced carrots( drain the juice out of it first). I cut them in halves after that. Give it a few minutes then it’s done! I had this in bed on this cold day today for an early lunch!
Fruit Bowl Flower Cups:
I’m not sure how this was made but it looks yummy! I say use the picture as your guide and use any fruit you may have in your fridge! I plan on making one for each of my kids today for an after school snack! You can also follow imstafitfoodz on Instagram. I’ll update with a picture tomorrow of my version.
App Time:
Lastly I’ll end this with a great app you can use on your phone to help give you healthy ideas when your at the store! Thanks to my friend Katie….. It’s called SparkRecipes… And it’s free!!!!
I tend to buy 2 days in advance for dinners around here. It means I have fresh vegetables and I don’t spend my money on a bunch of excess stuff I don’t need. It also helps keep the snacks out of my pantry, although everything in moderation I always say, so that chocolate craving is ok to give in to here and there! Finishing this off with a picture my 6 year old drew for me at school! My kids are why I work so hard everyday!
I like to cook the carrots with the celery at the beginning instead of the can Thank you for the idea I use it all the time and will on Friday when it gets cold outside mom
Thnx mom! Yes fresh carrots are always better! I was on a time crunch that day though! 🙂 lots of broth helps as well, fills you up faster and warms you up too!
The chicken soup looks so good! Can’t wait to try!
Katie it is yummy! My fast version, made it right before the kids got out of school!
